Dom has finally been confirmed as Theo on 'Flash Forward'; fandom goes 'duh'. DOM AND JOHN CHO. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE NEXT YEAR THAT I'M GOING TO COMIC-CON?
Pics of Ryan Hansen and very pregnant wife. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Top 25 Harry Potter Characters. Eh. I wish they'd let Ron and Hermione tie, and Luna should be higher than 17, but at least Snape and Sirius rank highly.
Favourite icon-maker made icons. I love how vibrant and alive her icons always look. These are nifty too, and there's some terrific ones here.
Tonight I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
I know I'm being unfair to this movie. It was actually pretty good. A decent adaptation. It was very nicely shot. It's just that the changes they made really bothered me, and I don't know why it affected me more with this one than others. I guess I'm just sick of them changing things for no apparent reason except that they can. Teachers are always wandering past at just the right moments, and scenes are altered so that they barely resemble the scene they represent in the book. Also, Ron gets more to do in this film and is more awesome than he's ever been before...but Kloves STILL manages to screw him over more often than not, and give Hermione all of Ron's best friend material.
I also thought that some of the beats were really weird in this movie. Stuff like Dumbledore implying Harry was going to get laid by a hot girl (ew ew ew ew ew), romantic moments right after the most horrific scenes, weird events happening in front of teachers, there being NO CONSEQUENCES for Harry nearly causing Draco to bleed to death.
It did look really good, and everybody's stepped up their acting game again. Emma's finally moved on from her eyebrow acting. Daniel actually had much more to work with in OotP, but he does fine here. Rupert is, as always, the stand-out for me - he's fabulous in every one of his scenes, particularly the love potion/poisoning scene. There were some funny bits, too, and Alan Rickman was terrific in this one - sometimes it can feel a bit like he's phoning it in as Snape, but he gave this one real subtlety and depth. Love Bellatrix, as always. I dunno, I guess I just wasn't feeling it tonight, I might give it another shot later. Dumbledore was...better than he has been, but still not quite right. Oh, and I loved Harry and Draco's matching 'chosen one' complexes. Not least because every time they said it I was like OMG BUFFY!

Star Trek: First Contact
I watched this with
baldie_troll, and I don't think I was giving it enough attention to give it a fair review, but then, it wasn't holding my attention very well either. It was like a two-parter episode of a TV show, and not a terribly good one. I do like the Next Gen lot, though.

As for HP, I agree with you on a lot of accounts. To me, the books have always been better than the movies, and I view them almost as separate things. Movie = entertainment, for me. The no consequence bit after Harry attacked Draco did really irk me too. I mean, come on, the guy's bleeding on the floor, almost dying, and no one says anything?
The humor and cinematography was great, though!
OMG MISHA. New fan of his, and he's already beyond awesome.

The books are better than the movies, no question. The books are entertainment! I like the movies for getting the pictures of everyone and everything in my mind, I have trouble with that.
EVERYONE SHOULD BE A FAN OF MISHA COLLINS.

Gah. This movie and all the HP talk has got me wanting to read the books all over again! I usually like making everything up in my head, but with a 'verse like Hogwarts, it's nice to have something to go by.
DO YOU HAVE LINKS TO VIDEOS WHERE I CAN GET TO KNOW HIM BETTER?

Also, I agree that they always seem to give Hermione all the scenes as the "best friend." And of course the 7th movie is going to villify him even more, so it would be nice to show him having more of a role now. They even had him sitting way off in the distance in the last scene! But I'll try to contain my Weasley rage. I really love how well they portrayed Draco, along with some others. LUNA! ♥

2. I can't believe CHO ranks higher than Luna.
3. MOVIE.

Yeah, I know. I liked PARTS of it a lot, and I know that, as a movie in itself, it was pretty good. But some things just bother me so much, no matter much I prepared myself for them and how much I tried to keep an open mind.
The editing really bothered me. It just felt like a bunch of scenes that were randomly cut together at times, there was no natural narrative flow. I don't know.
It definitely looked gorgeous, and the acting was great in most cases.
LUUUUUUUUUUUUNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
4. Misha's twitter is my happy place. For very very very obvious reasons.

2. Yeah, but there are others up there that I don't agree with as well. Cho is so bland, though.
3. The editing problem has been consistent in Harry Potter, like the fact that they try to get so many bits from the books in necessitates rubbishy scene transitions or something. Goblet of Fire had that problem.
4. Misha is made of win.

Those movies really make you forget that Ron and Harry are supposed to be BFF. It's alway Hermione at Harry's side and Ron sitting somewhere else. That really bugged me in the last scene at the tower. Hermione's all "OF COURSE WE WILL GO WITH YOU" and Ron is sitting in the back, doing nothing :( It was like it's all about Hermione and Harry :(
