Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Simterprise. Her ongoing mission: To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilisations, to boldy go where no Sim has gone before.
Out story begins much as it left off. The newly-married Chekov-Sulus are going at it, albeit now in the comfort of their own quarters.
After their glowing reviews of her cooking and given the captain's preference for a good home-cooked meal over replicator food (he can't taste the difference, but will insist to anyone and everyone who will listen that it feels wrong), Lasruterupahe, Chekov and Sulu's guard from Saroya, has been offered a position as a cook on the ship. Given that she's never particular fit in with the rest of her people due to a disturbing soundness of mind, she decided to accept.
Chekov and Sulu are pleased to see her again. Chekov considers his time on Saroya to be one of the nicest vacations he's ever had: good company, nice warm snow-free climate, and excellent cooking.
She gets straight to work in the mess hall, quickly adapting to her new surroundings...
...and looks on proudly as the crew enjoy the first meal she has prepared for them.
Later, in sick bay, Ensign Ricky reported in with a stomach ache and a stubbed toe. He's convinced Lasruterupahe's cooking made him sick; however, Bones discovers pretty quickly that it's indigestion caused by eating too fast.
Bones complains to Nurse Christine Chapel that Ensign Ricky is taking up far too much of his valuable time complaining about the most trivial of injuries.
Yeoman Janice Rand has been sent to engineering to find out about some short circuits that have been causing malfunctions in people's quarters - the showers have been cold more often than hot recently - but is distracted by Gaila reporting on ship gossip that Kelly Riley, one of the bridge navigation officers, was seen running screaming from Kirk's quarters wearing only a towel.
Believe it or not, even on the Simterprise, exploration continues. The ship is currently cruising comfortably.
Everything's finally back to normal on the ship, and Kirk is enjoying the makeover the cleaning and repair crews gave the bridge after her sandy fiasco...
...when suddenly, all over the bridge, the lights flicker and go out.
