Sorry, intense war debate at the Bronze has kept me from updating earlier.
Well, today I got up super early (8:45 am, ridiculous) to go to my very first Written Jap tute. Well, the first I've attended. God it's dull...really basic stuff. Not good. Then I fell asleep in the library while trying to do my Anth readings, then had lunch with Phoebe and a *very* hyperactive girl whose name may or may not be Sophie...I'm not convinced I remember. We went to a war protest where not a lot happened so we went to our Asian Studies lecture...where nothing much happened. I wrote some more fanfic, I've actually got about 3 unfinished stories going now. Oops. Went to Anth tute, grew to dislike one girl particularly, and avoided eye contact with another girl because we couldn't stop laughing about "happy clouds." See, we were discussing a phenom...phenomenon...phenomological, there we go, angle on anthropology, whereby you basically participate in the culture you're studying, and Miss Smartass (the girl I dislike) was saying how we can never feel what others are feeling, to which the tutor showed a spine for the first time by replying (vaguely) yes we can, it's called empathy. Then he went on to talk about an abstract concept of "feeling clouds," and I leaned over to this other girl (Amber, I think) and asked if I was the only one picturing us all sitting on a little yellow cloud with a smiley face on it. So we cracked up. Amusing :D Got my studnet card renewed (took forever), came home, read some fics at the Smallville archive, called Tom and actually forgot what I called to say coz he was at Aaron's. (HI Aaron!!!)
Haven't really watched anything today, just Futurama and Voyager, which don't really count...since I don't really like them. Seven of Nine's got a cool name, though. So, no reviews.
Link of the day is Hero Machine, which is good shiny fun :D You can make superheroes and stuff with it. Tom introduced me to it waaaay back.
I chose my first Pic of the Day not because it's particularly cute but because of the innate cuteness of the scene it comes from. It's from A Day in the Life of a Hobbit, a special doco on the LotR extended DVD, in which we first see Dom and Billy sitting there bitching about Lij. Lij comes over and sits down (have I ever mentioned he has the strangest laugh ever? It's so high-pitched and cackle-like. He sounds like a wicked witch. It's gorgeous) and they pretend nothing happened and start being really nice to him. Next Dom goes, and Billy and Lij start bitching about him. Dom comes back, and Billy goes and...well, you get the picture. It's just a very very funny moment. And okay, yeah, Dom and Lij are chock full of chemistry. So there's that, and a vague pretty. They look kinda sleepy, but nice. And comfy.
Boys, be ambitious.
