Of course not! Though I like thinking she survived in the wreckage of the Farragut and was a BAMF and saved a bunch of people. But maybe that's just my love of angst!recovery-fic talking.

I don't know how she would've managed to survive, because the ships were basically blown out of the sky. Pretty sure everyone must have died. Also, we have no idea what ship Gaila was assigned to - we didn't hear her name, and it seems like they were just calling out a name and then their designated ship. She looks excitedly at Uhura, but that could just be because they were going to actually get field time rather than because they were on the same ship.

Your idea is awesome, though, I would love for Gaila to be that kind of BAMF. I also love the idea of her in engineering with Scotty, though XD
