IT COUNTS. THE BOW TIE HAS LITTLE CHRISTMAS TREES ON IT.

I don't know if anyone recalls this, but a few years ago I helped co-ordinate some gay marriage rallies, so I'd think the answer would be fairly obvious.

I'm also posting to say I'm a member of [livejournal.com profile] hogwartsishome now, and I'm in Gryffindor. Is there anybody else on my flist who's a member?

Gaila, obviously. Because she's awesome and was on the Enterprise and definitely didn't die.

I'm literally only posting this for my fellow Aussie convention whores, because we know a girl who asks it at every convention ever.

Also, yes, I had two - a teddy bear called Kuma and a rag doll called Doll-doll. Doll-doll is almost in pieces but still with me, and Kuma went out with the sheets at a hotel in Korea and I never got him back.

Here's the list of nominees for this year's Academy Awards.

Obvious omission: no Christopher Nolan for Best Director.

My thoughts:

Best Picture: The Social Network
Best Director: I don't think David Fincher can or should get this for TSN, so I'm going out of the box with Darren Aronofsky.
Best Actor: Colin Firth
Best Actress: Natalie Portman
Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale
Best Supporting Actress: Helena Bonham Carter (I HOPE, although I think Melissa Leo has a chance and if they really want to go out of the box they'll go Jacki Weaver)
Best Animated: Toy Story 3
Best Original Screenplay: The King's Speech
Best Adapted Screenplay: The Social Network

The only really good thing I got out of this: James Franco is now an Oscar nominated actor, FUCK YEAH. Otherwise, I don't think this year is going to be a tight race, and I think Inception got shafted.

Um, Die Hard. Obviously. It's one of the greatest action movies of all time, it has Alan Rickman, and it's a Christmas movie. What more could you possible ask for?

All I'm saying is, when the robots rise up and take over we're all going to be screwed. None more so than me. (I say this quite often and people just look at me funny - either nobody finds me funny, or they think I'm entirely serious.) (I'm only a little bit serious.)

Did he just call me a luddite?

I want children. If I ever get a significant other, it will have to be someone who also wants children. There is just no other way it will work out. If I never get a significant other, I will try to have a child another way.

Meanwhile, NOOOOOOOOOO! Lorelai is losing :( :(

Go vote at March Madness!

Wow, that's a loaded question, isn't it? Prisoner of Azkaban has always been and will always be my favourite, but I found Deathly Hallows to be an extremely satisfying end to the books.

Guys, PLEASE GO VOTE at [livejournal.com profile] fs_lims. We're right down to the wire now!

Dollhouse article in The Sun, ugh.

I kinda just wanted to make this post because I laughed when I saw this question on the home page. Think they know the kinda people using LJ at all? I'm pretty sure most lists wouldn't include Serenity or BSG.

My favourite is Firefly, fyi. Star Trek is pretty awesome, but it cannot compare to Firefly, and I need to give it a good decade or so before I decide how it measures up against Star Wars. I also love Galaxy Quest. I really want to get that on DVD.

To give you some idea of stuff I've been getting up to today: I had no idea Mark-Paul Gosselaar's mother is Indonesian! I am so productive. I watched a lot of The Big Bang Theory, which cracks me up, I love it. Also cool is this gender-reversed Star Trek 2009 picspam.

Video of the Star Trek cast at William Shatner's...horse thing.

Player vs. Player reveals the truth behind Dollhouse's renewal.

Joss talks Dollhouse renewal, and so does Eliza.

Fox announces fall schedule, acknowledges Whedon fans. It may only be lip service, but I really do think that the Fox establishment have been trying hard not to repeat the Firefly mistake and actually might even care about Dollhouse. I had a little rant about that at Whedonesque. I'm not going to repeat it.

Fox's Dollhouse solicitation preview - spoilers about Paul, and who is returning. Looks like spoilers )

On a related note, the first 'V' poster doesn't feature Alan Tudyk.

Precious Ryan Hansen interview. Spoiler for his role in Friday the 13th, which I forgot he was in. I really want to watch it just for him and Paddywhack, but I know that ended in tears (or at least copious fast-forwarding) with House of Wax. I've also only seen the pilot of Party Down. I like the people on it but I think it's a little too much awkward humour for me.
Oh, also, I saw him in the 80's episode of Gossip Girl, because my sister loves the show. Ryan does get typecast a tiny bit, but he's always so damn good at it.

'Lost' scoop: Juliet mystery (sort of) solved.

Interview with Christian Bale about Terminator: Salvation. That's another outstanding trailer. I really want to see that movie.

Penny Lane: Literal Video. LOL.

Icons: Fringe, Dollhouse, Lost, and because apparently I can't do a post without some, Star Trek and more Star Trek.

I really wish Firefly had gotten a longer run, and it is by far the most unfairly cancelled TV show, but since I didn't discover it until after I saw Serenity and I didn't watch it week-to-week while it was on it doesn't seem fair to say that I missed it. I genuinely missed Veronica Mars after it was cancelled. Shows that don't get cancelled I miss less, because they got their full run and feel complete, but Buffy's end was like a shot to the heart.

But the truth is, I think, even though all the episodes haven't even finished airing yet, the show I miss most already is Pushing Daisies )

Sarah Palin, for existing. And, if I can include previous crimes against humanity, for breeding.
