Here's the list of nominees for this year's Academy Awards.

Obvious omission: no Christopher Nolan for Best Director.

My thoughts:

Best Picture: The Social Network
Best Director: I don't think David Fincher can or should get this for TSN, so I'm going out of the box with Darren Aronofsky.
Best Actor: Colin Firth
Best Actress: Natalie Portman
Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale
Best Supporting Actress: Helena Bonham Carter (I HOPE, although I think Melissa Leo has a chance and if they really want to go out of the box they'll go Jacki Weaver)
Best Animated: Toy Story 3
Best Original Screenplay: The King's Speech
Best Adapted Screenplay: The Social Network

The only really good thing I got out of this: James Franco is now an Oscar nominated actor, FUCK YEAH. Otherwise, I don't think this year is going to be a tight race, and I think Inception got shafted.

I haven't really checked my flist for days, and probably won't any time soon: I've got prac, birthdays, plays and other real life things stealing me away from my precious internet fandom. OMG NEW 'GLEE' TOMORROW!!! WHEELS! I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THIS ONE! 'Dancing With Myself' from the ep is really good. Really, really good. I can't WAIT for lots of Artie and Kurt.

It's amazing how much cinematic dreck gets drudged up and watched by fans because one of our celebrities is in it. I mean, I'm guilty of the same thing, but I'm just checking out a movie community I'm on and it's like, every third movie is crap that someone fandom-famous is in.

JANE IS IN 'LEVERAGE'?? I don't know if I'll be able to watch it now. Everytime I see her I'll be waiting for her to say something insane.

I watched Criminal Minds after Spicks & Specks and between Fringe tonight (why is everything good on Wednesday nights?) and I thought for a moment I would no longer have a reason to watch. Thankfully that did not happen. I want to have sex with him, is all I'm saying.

Go vote at the Scream awards. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would nominate Paddywhack and not Jensen for something like this, but I didn't vote for him at any rate. I would've voted for Jensen, who is the most underrated actor on television.

Tiny 'I Sell the Dead' review that sounds quite promising. I'll probably like it more if it's funny horror.

Emmys thoughts:
1. Worst hosting ever

2. Christina Hendricks has the best rack in show business (SHE LOOKED SO HOT. SHE IS DEFINITELY PROMOTED TO GIRLCRUSH STATUS.)

3. The Emmys haven't rewarded anything I love since...probably since Lost in 2005. I watched 30 Rock after the Emmys and I just...don't get it, or something. I might like Mad Men, though, I haven't seen that. But come on, Kristen Chenoweth!! Olive is one of the best characters on TV.

Random thoughts: I love all my icons, I do, but I think the Supernatural fandom just has the best icons. So many of my favourites are in that fandom. The number of Supernatural icons I have is disproportionate to the amount I like the show. Meanwhile, not enough people make Pushing Daisies icons.

ETA: Remember this mystery James Gunn project? It's James Gunn's PG Porn! AHAHAHAHAHAHA. HAHAHAHAHAHA. HAHAHA.

ETA2: I only just figured out that James and Sean Gunn are related, and I can't get over Rosenbaum's Charlie Brown hair.
