Okay, so if there's any Browncoats on my list, you have to get involved in the big Nathan Fillion vs. Warp One rant.

Nathan Fillion tried to buy a comic for his mother and the idiot employee tried to get him to pay $20 when the cover price was $3. Seriously, it's just courtesy to ask a normal price when somebody's called you on it.
The idiot employee replied. What, he expects sympathy when he tried to rip off our Captain Tightpants? Moron. He made me angry and I wrote payed instead of paid. (Actually I wrote it in present tense first, then changed it without thinking, but still. He made me so mad I forgot how to use good grammar.)

Meanwhile, I had a truly shocking day at work. My supervisor was there and Luke was acting like he'd been possessed. He was alternately crying and laughing, refused to work for me, and everytime I went near him he'd run off to the other side of the room. Also I had a cold and was really tired, which meant that I was slower than usual AND off my game, so I kept forgetting things. Supervisor leaves and suddenly Luke's a complete angel, working perfectly, happy, playing with me. Augh.

Here's a few of my favourite songs:

Melissa Ethridge & k.d. lang - Sleep While I Drive
This song has been played most on my iTunes, probably because I love road songs and this is one of the best. Gorgeous song.

Stereophonics - Devil
This is a really, really cool song that puts me in the mind of hot guys with dark glasses in Quentin Tarantino movies.

Kef - Evangeline
If you don't already have this song, why not?! It's a great song AND a fanboy song about our Evangeline Lilly :D got a great beat to it.

You've had your pictures.

HRH Green Queen,

Thou appologizes, but for I do not/can not read every word of your journal all the time. And for that it is I who is eternally in debt to Thee. I do happen to have a question for your highness though. For what is it that ye does?

I work with a 5 year old boy with autism.

And I don't read every word of everyone else's journal either (with a 137-person friends list I tend to skim sometimes) so I understand completely.

If you're going to kill me, I would appreciate it if you would do so quickly and without too much mess.

Thanks for the songs! You have great taste :)

Also, don't let the idiots around you get you down. You rock, okay? remember that.

No worries! Glad you think so. I dunno if you still would if you saw all of my collection of songs. ;)

Thankyou very much!

Re: Comic Book Issue

I don't agree with either of them :o\

OK the comic book store owner was being an ass by trying to rip the actor off, but I also do not like what the actor had to say about the events.

He came off, in my personal opinion, as very high and mighty -- and celebrities should not use their 'power' to influence people, regardless of their own personal experiences.

Sounds like he went in there, didn't like what he heard, tried to use the "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!" routine, and when that didn't work he came home and wrote that post.

I think they're both lame. But that's just my opinion :o)

Re: Comic Book Issue

I don't think Nathan was trying to use any power to influence people. If you read the post you'll see that his brother couldn't resist telling the comic book guy who Nathan was but Nathan didn't say anything himself - the comic book guy himself says he didn't know who it was until AFTER Nathan left the shop.

I think he was genuinely pissed off that the comic book stores try to rip people off, and so he was telling everybody to boycott their stores until they ask more reasonable prices for their comic books.

I understand that he was quite angry when he wrote the post, and perhaps he did not say, "Go and flame these people!", however I sort of felt that when he said this:

The store I chose, which shall remain nameless (Warp 1 Comics), at an undisclosed location (just off Whyte Ave)...

And then later:

...the reply of this crap-catcher, who shall remain nameless (Darryl)

It sort of gives me the impression that whilst he was trying to remain mature about the situation, he still armed his fans with information. I am sure he knows how loyal and tight-knit his fans are... he didn't necessarily have to come out and tell them what to do with the information. By putting it where it was accessible, in a clearly aggressive post, it was enough to spark some fans off. Do you know what I mean?

And you may argue that he was warning them to they wouldn't shop in that store in future, which could be true however the circumstance in which this information was presented doesn't really say to me, "Don't shop there. You'll get ripped off." But that might just be me.

If you read the post you'll see that his brother couldn't resist telling the comic book guy who Nathan was but Nathan didn't say anything himself

Oh no, I understand that. What I meant was that he clearly saw nothing wrong with the fact his brother tried to use his celebrity as a way of getting what he wanted. I don't think any actor, whether it's this guy or Brad Pitt, should ever use their celebrity to manipulate or intimidate people into getting what they want from them. And yes, I understand he didn't say it, but from what he wrote in his post it didn't sound like he disapproved of it either.

Now having said all of that I tend to side more with Nathan -- comics are the worst thing to collect because of the fact some are very rare and very hard to find, and of course comic store owners are going to want to make a profit if someone appears gullible. I just don't agree with some of the things he was saying in his post (or implying, for lack of a better word)
