I've had a total rollercoaster of a day.

It started off terribly, I was woken up at about 7 with a splitting headache that pretty much never went away. I went to see Pirates 2, which I enjoyed a huge amount, but I also had two huge screaming matches with my sister and my migraine was bad enough I couldn't see for about 5 minutes at one point and I had to call in sick to work. I almost fell asleep during The Two Towers, which is pretty much an inexcusable travesty for me. Now I'm pretty much wrecked.

Dead. Jensen and Jared and gay and masturbation and nudity and...just...dead.

Snakes on a Plane song on MySpace, link from [livejournal.com profile] jenish, as is the one above. I might upload the song later, but now I'm too tired.

New Ari Gold fic! [livejournal.com profile] hackthis wrote NEW ARI BITCH. If you like RPS, or Superman, or fanfiction at all, go read it now.

Lloyd is Ari's assistant for a reason. He doesn't even hesitate when he says, "Brandon Routh. Born in 1979. Iowa. Ex-Model who was on One Life to Live for a bit. Most recently represented by IMTA."

Ari's eyebrow rises of its own accord. "IMTA? What the fuck is that? I Might Take it in the Ass?"

Damn, I wanna see Entourage.

Emmy nominations. WTF NO LOST. Seriously. What the fucking fuck.

Jake and Heath join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, along with Keira and Dakota Fanning. Clearly a weak attempt to correct their big Best Picture mistake, as is usual with the Academy, but this can't be bad - at least there'll be some new, non-homophobic blood in one of the most conservative institutions left in Hollywood.

So yeah, this morning I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

It's impossible for me to grade this fairly because I'm so madly in love with Jack Sparrow and the whole pirate thing. That said, this movie had its flaws but was overall a fantastically entertaining movie. The set pieces are fantastic - there's a three-way swordfight scene at the end that's side-splittingly funny, exciting and amazing to look at, so hold tight for that. There's also some other great moments throughout the film, and it rolls along in spite of being very long. The Bahamas locations are amazing and used very effectively. The Davey Jones crew look fantastic, there are a few old friends to surprise you, and there's a new girl character who I kind of love. Also, Will and Elizabeth go full-on piratey, which is enormous fun, and it gives Orlando a little more to do. There's also a great moment between Jack and Elizabeth dressed as a man that's NOT in the trailer that I love.

Johnny Depp's in full-on campy, overacting, mincing, silly mode as Jack and loving every minute of it. It's impossible not to love Jack. He's fantastic.

The Kraken was mostly good but at a certain point it just sort of grated on me, and the ending's a killer. Why do we have to wait so long for the next one?

Okay, there's a point at which a joke just becomes old, though. The rum jokes are hit-and-miss and there are other things that were clever in the first movie that they overdo in this one and it just gets irritating eventually. It's also rather insulting to different ethnicities. Still, I suppose you can't expect much more. And there's always Jack to keep you warm.

8 out of 10.

Tonight I saw Eurotrip

Eh, it got a few laughs out of me, but the stuff they thought was really funny didn't connect, probably because the cultures represented are stomped all over, pissed on, and stereotyped in the worst ways imaginable. So many stereotypes, so little time. And they presented the stereotypes as funny in themselves, which they're not - you've gotta do something with them. Also, NOBODY convinced as coming from a single European country, except maybe the Brits. Not even the real Europeans were convincing, maybe because they were playing such moronic stereotypes.

The kids are okay, but nobody's really that interesting. The main character is pretty but he's got NOTHING ELSE. He's like a poor man's Chris Evans. He's got no character whatsoever. What's the point? I don't give a shit whether he gets to the girl. Michelle Trachtenburg as a sex kitten is kind of unsettling. She's mostly just cute. I don't understand how they get women wo work in these movies, though. They're completely objectified.

There was one of the nerds from Supernatural, though, and the Juggernaut, Bitch, and Matt Damon and 'Scotty Doesn't Know,' which is maybe the best song from a movie EVER. I love how it permeates the film, it's hilarious.

Scotty Doesn't Know: 10/10
Everything else: 4/10

Eurotrip was pretty crap. But Scotty doesn't know was gold.

Ari rocks! I love Entourage! Thanks for passing that on!

I read that interview this morning.

Someone commented that they seem like they enjoy being slashed because of interviews like this.

I have to agree with that.

I know Dakota Fanning has that older-than-her-years thing going for her and all, but isn't she still a little young to be watching some of the movies that get nominated? Or has it just been a really long time since I was 12?

Just for you, I'm going to check out the Ari fic because you rave about them all the time. I never read RPS.

Hope your head feels better by the time you read this.
