Today I watched High Fidelity

I love Jack Black. A lot of people don't, but I really, really do, particularly in small doses like in this movie, where he pretty much plays himself. John Cusack is in top form in a slightly more hard-edged and difficult take on his usual lovesick puppy character, but the more jaded world view of Rob might just be due to Cusack's age. I always love watching John and Joan act together. The movie was written well, which I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was also shot really nicely. Not a huge fan of the pace, though. It felt a lot like real life (well, for me,) so like real life my attention occasionally drifted. Still, I really enjoyed it. I liked all the ex-girlfriends, they all felt like people you could know. I felt really awful for Lili Taylor's character.

Not enough top fives, though. I would've liked more top fives.

Tonight I watched The OC for the first time in ages, because it was the finale, and everybody who has even seen an ad for the show knows what that means. YAY. How I did rejoice. Oh, I missed Seth. I love Seth. Shame about the show.

Spoilers for next season of Lost. YAY!
