More of the Veronica Mars cast at Comic-con signing via [livejournal.com profile] dindongbell. Pretty much all Ryan, Muhney and Jason being beyond adorable.

Today I watched High Fidelity )

8 out of 10.

Tonight I watched The OC for the first time in ages, because it was the finale, and everybody who has even seen an ad for the show knows what that means. YAY. How I did rejoice. Oh, I missed Seth. I love Seth. Shame about the show.

Spoilers for next season of Lost. YAY!

What's Opera, Doc? It astounds me that there are people in the world who haven't seen that cartoon.

Not terribly convincing article about directors as a brand.

Update on the status of [livejournal.com profile] shoebox_project. YAY IT'S NOT DEAD.

Don't click here.

So, Joss, why do you write these strong female characeters?

So, I pre-ordered Amber Benson's new movie Lovers, Liars and Lunatics co-starring Muhney ([livejournal.com profile] thewzrd), Clem, and the mother from Even Stevens. OMG!

CW Promo ad caps, including the sweetest one of Jensen and Jared that is unfortunately obscured by writing and a repeat of the Bunny Ear Incident, and unfortunately lacking in the Rosenbaum. Paddywhack's hair cracks me up.

Snakes on a Plane track listing.

ETA: REAL POISONOUS SNAKE ON A PLANE. LMAO.

Billy Boyd at T in the Park clip.. Pics at [livejournal.com profile] dryope's journal. SO HARDCORE IN HIS TWEED JACKED AND BLACK SHIRT AND GRYNFFINDOR TIE.

Ian Somerhalder and some other guy dancing to Faith in their underwear from Rules of Attraction. GENIUS.

Favourite song right now: Ballad of the Pimp - Alan Cumming & Cyndi Lauper.
Did you not read the artists' names? ALAN CUMMING AND CYNDI LAUPER.

Yes, I too hate the new user info page.

Queer as Folk just keeps popping up all over my friends list. It's a little unnerving.

I also hate the word fugly.

I am disturbed that Mac was on my TV tonight as Alice in Wonderland with a bad British accent.

My Lost Season 1 DVDs arrived today, finally!

I've watched all of disc 7 as well as the commentaries for Pilot 1 & 2, Walkabout and The Moth (unsurprisingly I watched Dom's episode first.) I just want to mention the mad JJ/Damon love going on in these commentaries.

Naveen-Andrews.net has undergone a bit of a change. I've upgraded to a Gold Account because I kept exceeding my traffic quota, and the
Lost Episodes page has changed to accomodate season 2 pics. I think the gallery needs an overhaul.

The incomparable [livejournal.com profile] swoonstar has new pics from the Emmys and the Season 2 Premiere. And a cute one of Dom, PJ, JRD and Elijah at the Golden Globes.

Ahah! [livejournal.com profile] zoniduck has the song from 'Man of Science, Man of Faith' up for grabs.

Deleted scene from Lost 2.01 'Man of Science, Man of Faith.' Jack does the same thing with Charlie's face as he did with Kate's in Walkabout. Just an observation of the big gay love.

Very early negative Brokeback Mountain review that criticises the politics and not the movie - it complains that it's all about The Gay but there's no discussion of actual sex. He appears to be one of those people who don't understand that sometimes movies come from other source material like, say, books. Or in this case a short story. Apparently it was written early on to try to start a movement against the film and failed. Also, his grammar is shocking in this review.
I haven't seen the movie, but this review strikes me as somewhat stupid.
There are a lot of specifics that I won’t go into here. But the big picture is, this is a star-crossed gay lovers movie that doesn’t really examine the urge to be gay, the experience of being gay, or the love between two men that can be in so many ways the same as the love between a man and a woman.

If you are willing to put blinders on to how thin the movie is and if you are into mushy romance, you will probably love it.

There's something weird about seeing Elijah Wood's girlfriend's nipples.

Dom interview from Contact Music so you know it's either bullshit or just pasted together from old interviews. This one appears to belong to the latter category.

Am I a boy or a girl? )

And when I say women, I mean men.

I have joined communities and downloaded programs in the vain hope of downloading "Man of Science, Man of Faith."

And yet still I'm waiting. Augh! I wanna see it!

Mario/Luigi fic. I know, right? And apparently somebody wrote a rock opera about Mario Bros. I mean, the guy ran from castle to castle jumping on turtles' heads and saving the wrong princesses and somebody wrote a rock opera about it. I wonder if Mario finally flips his lid and kills one of the our-princess-is-in-another-castle princesses.
I also love the icon being used in that post.

Most Shocking TV Deaths. Doyle didn't die of electrocution, he died because of his demon side - the machine killed demons. Poor Glenn Quinn *cries* I'm annoyed that Tara didn't make it because she was a supporting character and Buffy did even though she didn't stay dead. Which is what made Tara's death REALLY shocking.

I have linked this before, but I love [livejournal.com profile] groaty's Slashiness Made Simple so much I stole an icon. Which I am using now. Hooray for the internet.

Thankyou so much for the Entertainment Weekly with the picture of Naveen and Dom! It's now stuck to the side of Butler, along with a pic from Numb3rs, Jake Gyllenhaal, and a shot of Shannon and Guy from Idol '03. Meanwhile, I have to check up on where my fucking Lost Season 1 DVDs are because they were shipped ages ago and I haven't got them yet.

Naveen-Andrews.net has exceeded the traffic quota again. I think I'm going to have to start paying more. I'm now 670 odd visitors short of 50,000. I think that's more than all the other websites I've had combined, and I only started N-A.n in March.

When I hit 50,000 I'm sending that letter.

I really hate it when people refer to actors by their character names. I get it a lot in comments to my icon posts and it pisses me off. Learn their real names or don't download my icons. Or at least call them "the guy who plays Charlie." Though frankly, if you don't know Dominic Monaghan's real name, I don't know what you're doing hanging around my journal.

Pics: I have decided that Maggie Grace is my TV wife. Jesus Christ on a pogo stick in winter.

Maggie Grace at Women in Hollywood 20/9 )

Lost is now downloading. I have 5% of it. Woot!

Hail to the queen, baby.

Bah, I hate narrow-minded people.

Today was good, though, I had coffee with Nutty and took Saffy, so that was interesting. She just adores him. Didn't do much else today, to be honest *shrugs*

Links of the Day: Turns out Maggie isn't the only Sayid/Sawyer slasher.
Implicit Association Test, though I have a feeling it may be bullshit.

Ironic (Unplugged) by Alanis Morissette
Which is, of course, a great song in and of itself, but this version is particularly notable for replacing the word "wife" with "husband." And that whole unplugged acoustic thing, which is always good, right?

Icons are forthcoming.

I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tonight.

I know it's good. Visually it's stunning, the performances are good, and a lot of the lines had me just cracking up. But something in me stopped me from really getting invested in it - probably the fact that I just love the old film so damned much.

Spoilers )

Saw it with Kathy, [livejournal.com profile] melissajane14, [livejournal.com profile] sherrif_topato and [livejournal.com profile] tuatha_de and then went to T&N's afterwards.

I've been a bit oversensitive lately, it's not good, I think it's to do with this uni stress thing. I'm easily upset and my emotions are all over the place. I don't see it getting better too quickly.

More about my day: Woke up with a KILLER HEADACHE FROM HELL this morning. Like, rolled out of bed and a wave of nausea hit. I had to go out and grab some Panadeine and then laid around in bed in pain for a while. Not so much fun.
