She's sexy (I like the 80's look.)
She's tough
and unrelenting
with serious attitude to match.
She's in a real relationship with chemistry that doesn't completely define her character.
3. Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace
She's beautiful.
She's sexy, and very sexually charged.
She's a soldier
who's tough
and is more badass than half the men on the show
but she's vulnerable as well.
2. Faith
She's beautiful.
She's sexy, in a dangerous way.
She's tough
and she fights the baddies
but she's deeply (and convincingly) broken.
Definitely badass.
1. Zoe Alleyne
She's beautiful.
She's sexy.
She's a tough ex-soldier
really tough
bordering on ridiculously badass
and yet she's still feminine, even though she's stoic.
And finally, she was in a real relationship with chemistry that didn't define her! Watch and learn, Eric Kripke.

I haven't watched BSG yet. It might be silly, but I tried to watch it last week or the week before, and the directing turned me off. I wanted to watch the characters, but it felt like the director was trying to act for them with the dizzy close-ups and such, and never staying still. I get tired of that sort of directing really quickly. Is it all like that?

Yeah, that's understandable. The battle sequences slow down a lot once the series gets going and focusses more on the character drama, and they're REALLY good characters. It continues to have a bit of a documentary feel, but it's much less dizzying. Trust me, I'm not a fan of that style either - I never could figure out what was going on in BSG's early battle sequences.
You have to watch BSG. It has Gaius and Six and Starbuck and HELO. *points to icon*

I haven't seen Pitch Black, but I'm absolutely loving Claudia Black as Aeryn Sun. She's different from Zoe, more firmly cut out of the Touch Soldier Chick mold with little humanity, but from what I hear, that develops as she comes to trust her friends and John Crichton in particular. Zoe, though. She just rules the world, that's all.
The BSG characters seem to be worth braving the dizzy directing, so I'll be giving it a try, definitely. (Is that guy Gaius or Six or HELO?)

Pitch Black was by far the best action scifi I've seen in a long time. Just as a popcorn movie it's really fun and clever and the world it creates is striking. You should see it.
Nobody beats Zoe, because Zoe wins. Do you SEE her in the icon? And in the pilot, when she gets shot, then shoots from the ground with her rifle? It's poetic. I adore her.
This post (http://green-queen.livejournal.com/604738.html) is relatively spoiler-free and will introduce you to the main players and show you just how pretty they are. This, in my icon, is Helo. He is played by Tahmoh Penikett and he is one of favourite hot guys. I LOVE him.

I'll have to check it out, thanks for the rec! Well done scifi is so much love for me. Almost as much love as fantasy, although if they made more movies like LotR (and less like D&D), I'd never want to watch anything else.
Dude. Her shooting from the ground was kick ass. I said it out loud when I saw that, "Oh my god, I love this woman." What can you say? Zoe wins.

Zoe actually grew on me, because I saw the movie first and having her introduced as the girl who shoots stuff and whose husband dies is more sympathy-inducing than INSTANT LOVE. Then again, I usually don't fall in instant love with the characters who end up being my favourites. I liked her a lot, but I think it was the whole series plus the movie and seeing the different aspects of her character that won me over.
Tahmoh is very fun and mischievous. Helo is when he gets the chance, but BSG is pretty dark, there's not much time for levity. He's more sweet and noble, really.

My favourite characters tend to be sexy, morally conflicted heroes with dark pasts, but to be honest a lot of them are a big mix. Zoe, Tara, Helo and Piz couldn't be more different and they're all favourites.

Seriously though I'm only a fan of the top two and I woudl put them in that order too! I love Gina Torress with the heat of a thousand suns.From Cleopatra (on Xena), to Nebula to Hel, to Zoe to Jasmine, just LOVE. Faith is one of my fave characters ever as well. I dont' watch the other shows. I've seen BSG and Veronica both once and I did like both Starbuck and Veronica so like I said, good list. :o)
