In my inexpert opinion, this last 'Oscar year' has been an excellent one for movies.
I've heard a lot that the actual box-office earnings have been lower than average this year. I think part of that is the fact that there's a lot of really good programming coming back to TV, but I also think I've seen some really excellent movies this year. For instance, tonight I saw...
Good Night, and Good Luck. This was a very neat, tight and well-made film with a strong and extremely well-presented political message. The acting was great, and it was very well-written. I personally didn't think it had as much heart as something like Brokeback, but in terms of style they couldn't be more different - GNaGL was punchy and quick and had these wonderful moments of tension you could cut with a knife, while Brokeback was slow and quiet and had a slow-building sense of tragedy. I liked the way GNaGL managed to tell exactly the story it was focussed on without going off track - I really admired it for that. I learned a lot about the period from the movie and I like the way it tackled the issues of the day and related the issues to the world we live in. Wow, really good movie.
9 out of 10
I also watched Poltergeist the whole way through for the first time today. Not a bad movie - largely not scary (except the bit with the bugs in the face), but not bad.

Overall, you are typically calm and relaxed - making others feel secure. Openness to experience: Your openness to new experiences is high. In life, you tend to be an early adopter of all new things and ideas. You'll try almost anything interesting, and you're constantly pushing your own limits.
