I feel old. I'm chatting with a friend from high school on MSN who's married (and needs to come visit me asap) and the girl who was my best friend in years 9 & 10 just posted HER ULTRASOUND on Facebook. I was like WTF. More at the fact that she's pregnant than the posting the ultrasound bit, but...that's also a bit WTF.
So, last night I went for coffee with a hottie who has moved away. He was just back for a couple of days and was nice enough to squeeze me in :p I have been flirting futilely with him for ages, and now it seems like...we're friends. Welcome to my life! Oh well, he's fun regardless.
Joss is obviously having fun with the Season 8 storylines. Really, is any Joss fan shocked?!
20 Spring movies EW can't wait to see. I'm looking forward to Stop-Loss the most. More importantly, when is Indy 4 coming out that it is not on this list?!?
Then I went to Film Group with Mitchell & Kyle to see 30 Days of Night
Possibly the least scary vampires ever. The build-up was okay (terrible dialogue, but at least Ben Foster was decent with his creepy high voice and the idea was solid) but as soon as the oddly hyperactive foreign-language vampires attacked I started laughing. Then it's another couple of hours of unusually well-lit 'night' (where was the light coming from in the blizzard? Does the town glow or something?) with supposedly serious lines that made the whole room crack up. The movie took itself far too seriously, and had plot twists that made no sense (a little girl is wandering around the abandoned town covered in blood 27 DAYS IN?) Scenes that should have been scary are just laughable, because they get all the scares out of the big shocks (possibly due to the unscariness of the vamps.) Also, I didn't see this much in Alias, but Melissa George's American accent is terrible.
The little brother was cute, though, and as I mentioned, Ben Foster was by far the best part of the movie. There's some gore that's not so much scary but kind of impressive. I now want to take Kyle to every scary movie I see, because he jumps at EVERYTHING. And not just a little jolt. Butt-out-of-seat, armrest-grabbing jumps that nearly throw him out of the chair. It's wonderful.
Also, Andy Stehlin! LMAO, so didn't recognise him at all.

Not bad, except I'm not really manipulative.

You want to play with me now?

Also "Batsu" makes me think of the Batusi, thus ruining good lesbian thoughts by imagining right after that page they both jumped up and started dancing 60's Batman-style.
...which is still kind of oddly hot.
