My favourite icon maker made icons, including some from Growing Up Cullen, which I haven't linked yet. It's hilarious.
I'm kind of crazy in love with the way the text is done in these icons. 31, man!
WGA Says Moguls Not Living Up To New Contract: Angrily Calls It "Appalling". Sad.
5 Fall Shows That Could Be Improved With A Little Scifi, for the lulz.
CHRIS LOWELL! Teases us with promises of full-frontal Taye Diggs nudity, and talks more about Private Practice. They better have LOTS more Dell this season, is all I'm saying.
BSG at Comic-con photos, including a party that Tahmoh, Aaron, EJO, Michael Hogan and James Callis attended. Lucky bastards.
The best rack on TV = 'too plump for prime time'? Uh, go die in a hole, even if that wasn't your point, thanks. It's an article about the stunning (and thin!) Christina Hendricks, by the way. I am seriously considering bumping that hottie up to girlcrush status. I kind of love YoSaffBridge, but haven't seen Mad Men.
Amy Acker talks Dollhouse.
Heroes season 3 promo shots. The fact that they seem to be hooking Mohinder up with Maya annoys me irrationally, because I wish they'd just admit that Matt and Mohinder are married already. That was my favourite part of the last season!
Snapes on a Plane: Interview with Alec Hopkins, aka baby!Snape, who confirms he'll be back for HBP in what is clearly a drastically reduced role from the book. Awesome, I thought he was great in those TWO SECONDS we got of Snape's Worst Memory.
Today I went to the movies with
melissajane14 and Clare and we saw Not Quite Hollywood
THIS IS THE BEST DOCUMENTARY EVER. It's all about the Australian 'Ozsploitation' or genre films of the 70's and 80's, and it's in three segments - gross-out & sex comedies, horror & thriller pics, and action movies. Every section is just fascinating. It intersperses clips from the movies with talking head interviews with the filmmakers & stars, politicians, critics (including one brilliantly curmudgeonly critic who hates EVERY MOVIE AND FILMMAKER MENTIONED), and Quentin Tarantino (I would've been happy if they'd just interviewed him and shown the movie clips, because he is SO ENTHUSIASTIC about EVERYTHING.) It's really intriguing to see a time when the Australian film industry was flourishing based on cheaply made shlock genre movies (funded by enormous tax benefits) that had really original ideas and some great, inventive visual styles (and a whole lot of crap, but crap that sold.) The stuff about all the nudity and sex is interesting too, because everyone's so prudish now, particularly in comparison. These earlier movies made it possible for 'worthier' Australian movies like 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' to get made, but everyone was (and still is) so concerned with the image of Australia being portrayed that movies that portray Australians negatively are viewed negatively. Why does every movie have to be about Serious Issues and our national identity? Wouldn't you rather see an entertaining movie in which Australians are losers than a boring one in which we're all wonderful? The movie is edited at a decent pace and contains loads of great anecdotes about dangerous, sometimes deadly stunts, the insanity of Dennis Hopper, and fetishistic car shots, as well as hilarious clips from such classics as 'The Howling III: Rise of the Marsupials.' I kind of want to go out and rent a hundred Australian movies now. And see Not Quite Hollywood again.

And I must admit that my jaw still drops when she sashays on screen with a rump as big as a holiday ham. My first reaction is always: She's huge!
What? the? fucking? fuck?????????????????
I mean yes, the point of the article is that she actually isn't, but WHAT THE FUCK HOW IS THAT EVEN A POINT OF DISCUSSION?????

Wish you could have been there, it was insane. I am even jealous of myself for having been there... like I wasn't worthy!
If it makles you feel better, I totally missed Tamoh's Dollhouse Panel, because I suck at getting up early.
