Happy birthday, Zac Efron.
Some Like It Hot: Christina Hendricks. Damn, girl.
I know a few people on my flist have bought these prints, so Jason Palmer has revealed his mystery Serenity print.
Interview with Dollhouse guest star, TWoP member reviews pilot episode
New Star Trek promo pictures (the first really decent ones), Is JJ Abrams The New Joss Whedon? Yeah, no. Just no.
New stills from Milk! I can't wait to see this one.
Torchwood casting news. I can't believe they're doing a short third season. I love that show :(
New season 4 Supernatural promo pics (if they were any prettier the earth would explode), and cute Monster Movie icons.
There are also some lovely icons over here.
Also, I made some icons of my own.

Tonight Melissa came over and we watched movies.
A Guide to Recognising Your Saints
I thought I would enjoy this a lot, given the cast (Shia! RDJ! Channing Tatum!) but it ended up being somewhat disappointing. The dialogue is hard to hear or listen to, and Melissa and I ended up talking over most of it, while the direction (unsurprisingly, given that Montiel's a first-time director) is really patchy, with some irritating French New Wave editing tactics that annoy rather than enhancing the film. The acting was, of course, superb, and the mood of the film was strong, even if the characters were largely unlikeable. Channing Tatum was a real presence and could NOT be matched by casting Eric Roberts as his older self, that's just laughable. That kid could do so much if he didn't keep doing crap. Shia was amazing too.

Miller's Crossing
Now that's more like it. This movie is amazingly shot and totally engrossing. The sound quality and use of music is fantastic, sort of grainy and wonderfully suited to the period. It feels like an older movie but with the quality and tricks of a newer movie. Terrific performances from pretty much all the leads, and it's a great, tricky, twisted and gripping gangster movie, full of shifting loyalties, shoot-outs and lots and lots of hats. It's a Coen Brothers movie that's got a hint of No Country in it, but it's got more humour and less of that bleak violence.

We should play 'Chris Lowell or Zac Efron?' some time. LOL.

Also, I would have preferred Matt Damon instead of Josh Brolin as White. It's a shame Damon had scheduling conflicts.

Also...*squeee*... Zoe!!
Yeah the whole shorten Torchwood season really annoys me. I'm not huge on Torchwood I much prefer Who but it's just really a silly idea. They should have just gone with doing movies/specials like Who is doing while David's off playing Hamlet this year. It would make much more sense to do it that way.

I like Torchwood better than Doctor Who, but I wish they could give Torchwood a proper season. I want my Ianto fix, dammit.

I've always been on the fence with Torchwood more so now then ever now that they've killed off the two characters on the show I actually liked. But if they bring in Martha and/or Mickie I'll probably stick around for a while, other wise I doubt I'll last past this "season."

I do wish they'd stop going on about poor Christina Hendricks' boobs though. I feel like saying "hello, her face is up there"

I guess, but she has the best rack on TV! That's something to be proud of.
