A heads-up for everybody: I had my first prac day in a school today (just observing) (and it was awesome, fyi) and pretty soon I am going to have to make this whole journal friends-only. I don't know what I'm going to do about my picspams etc. - maybe make another journal? - but this one's going to have to be private. I'm going to give people an option to stay or go or be added back or whatever pretty soon. I'm not even sure how many of the people watching actually read every post anyway, so maybe this won't affect many people at all.

My first day at a school was the first time in this uni experience thus far that I finally felt totally confident and comfortable and un-freaked-out. And I was in classes with some of the lower-level kids, with a fair few behavioural issues, so I am feeling a hell of a lot better about this teaching gig now. It turns out I might not totally suck! Of course, once I get to actually teaching we'll find out whether my newfound confidence is well placed, but still, this was a good day.

Oh! You're in teaching practice? That is so awesome! It's a great time to learn a lot, and I'm happy to hear you're enjoying it. I made it the next step into actual teaching a little while ago, and although it was scary I'm also pretty much enjoying it. I have a bunch of little 13 year old brats though... :) It's fun to hear about other people's teaching experiences though..

They're not...ALL public. The ones about my family/friends are usually private. It's just that most days all I do is a list of links, so it didn't seem necessary.
