Details on the public appearances the Glee cast will make this weekend in Sydney and Melbourne. I'm deciding on which one to go to. Kyle suggested getting a Tiger flight to Melbourne to try to be one of the 200 people, which could work, but Sydney is easier. Are any of you guys going? Which one will you go to?
Prac is killing me. I'm so tired and stressed out right now. I've had some really great classes and some not-so-great ones, but I'm having trouble with prep and just finding the time to do everything with enough sleep, which I have not been getting. Also, home internet is down this weekend! Because, you know, I needed more things to go wrong right now. I swear, I've been cursed by the Inconvenience Gnomes and they're out to make everything just that little bit harder for me. I get to do documentaries, but I swear watching The New Guy over and over again is making me borderline homicidal.

A heads-up for everybody: I had my first prac day in a school today (just observing) (and it was awesome, fyi) and pretty soon I am going to have to make this whole journal friends-only. I don't know what I'm going to do about my picspams etc. - maybe make another journal? - but this one's going to have to be private. I'm going to give people an option to stay or go or be added back or whatever pretty soon. I'm not even sure how many of the people watching actually read every post anyway, so maybe this won't affect many people at all.

My first day at a school was the first time in this uni experience thus far that I finally felt totally confident and comfortable and un-freaked-out. And I was in classes with some of the lower-level kids, with a fair few behavioural issues, so I am feeling a hell of a lot better about this teaching gig now. It turns out I might not totally suck! Of course, once I get to actually teaching we'll find out whether my newfound confidence is well placed, but still, this was a good day.

Also, I am so not used to this crazy busy thing - I had classes from 8:30-2:00 today with a half hour break, which I used to buy my $124 textbook, and then I had to go straight from my overlong lecture to work. Okay, I didn't voluntarily give up LiveJournal or anything, I just haven't had the internet for nearly a week because your connection died and it took until today for someone to come fix it, and at every opportunity I was given to use the internet I decided to do something crazy like figure out my university course instead of come on LiveJournal, although I did find the time to renew my account. (And I can upload 5 more icons, yay!)
I got in to my teaching course! So I'll be doing that his year, hopefully keeping my current after-school job - but I should be able to get money from the government so that I won't have to get another job. I was only accepted into the course last night, after two days of classes (good job, administration) and now I can't get onto the website to enroll because I either wrote the password down or (as is, I believe, more likely since I repeated it twice) the guy gave me the wrong password.
And now, of course, I don't have time to do any links, since I only got the internet back today and have been wasting time trying to sort myself out and now I have to get to bed to be up in the morning. Hopefully I'll have things under control by next week.
PS. Episode 2 of Dollhouse was better than the pilot. I thought it was cool. I picked the Keeslar twist early and had a problem with one Boyd line, but I really kind of love Boyd.

I hate uni. It feels like it has no purpose. I worked for days on a presentation and then tonight figured out I'd been working on the wrong movie and tried to start a new one but it's on the densest movie in human history, and I haven't found a single review that isn't written by someone with the capability of using words with less than three syllables. I am going to have to pull out of this course. I have pulled out of too many courses and fucked over my degree far too much already. I don't even know how much of my poor parents' money I've wasted.

Today was long.

So I have this assignment due in an hour and 15 movies and I was completely panicked about it because I could NOT get to sleep last night after having only written 800 of the 2500 words I needed and I had to be up at 9. I took the dog to get her haircut at 9, then came home, took a panadeine and went back to sleep for an hour and a half. I woke up feeling excellent and finished the assignment 10 minutes ago. I don't think it's half bad, either - I got to write my own question, so I'm writing about how modern musicals subvert gender norms. I have loads of other theories on how musicals fit into the modern film and television world, but my lecturer didn't agree with them, so I left them out. Still, I got to write about Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cabaret and Chicago.
Moral of this story: when stressed, take drugs and sleep it off.

We've been kicked out because they varnished the floors. Of course a presentation I'm supposed to give in class tomorrow morning is still on my computer because I got kicked out of my room rather suddenly, so that can't be good. I also have to do assignments but my brain's not working. And I'm really tired even though I slept enough. I think I'm still sick.
It's so damn inconvenient.
Also, am torn between reading spoilers for Veronica Mars so that I know what happens and waiting until I get back into the house so I can watch the episode myself.
I don't suppose anybody really wants to write a couple essays do they?

I've seen her solo. It just wasn't very *good*. I love Debbie Reynolds and all, but the number itself was wet and boring.

Or, in the case of one of my classes, the only person in my class who's ever actually seen a musical before starting the course (the course is called The Politics of Dance/Musicals. WTF?)
