Why does James Marsden always get shafted in movies? He's always stuck being the OTHER guy. It's not fair. He's gorgeous and talented AND he sings and dances!
I wonder this myself. He almost never gets the girl and the fact that he finally succeeds in 27 Dresses was pretty much the only forgivable thing about that movie.
Yeah, not a movie I'll be watching any time soon even if he does finally get the girl. One of these days the Hollywood musical will come back in full force and he'll get to be a leading song & dance man and completely own my heart. AND GET THE GIRL, DAMMIT. Or boy, I'm not fussy.
James Marsden would make a perfect leading man. Charming, good looks, killer smile. I don't know why they are making him the next Bill Pullman or whatever - The Other Dude.
AND HE CAN SING AND DANCE. This is clearly of great importance to me. I love him so much in both Enchanted and Hairspray. I want to get to see him do THAT.
They keep saying musicals are making a comeback (and haven't they been making a comeback since 2001?), so Marsden needs more roles in the genre. Goddamn, don't say Zac Efron is the next Gene Kelly or whatever... give those roles to Marsden! And this is coming from someone who actually likes Zefron.
Musicals are only sort of making a comeback. We only get a couple of them a year, if that. Which is a shame, because most of the musicals being made at the moment are actually pretty good. (I think they've been making a slow comeback since...Chicago?)
I love Zac Efron, but he's too young to be the real musical leading man. James Marsden has the maturity and depth. Although James Marsden isn't really a Gene Kelly type...he's more of a Frank Sinatra without the mob ties.
There was special feature on the Sex Drive DVD that REALLY puts him down and shows him as a douche. I'm not sure if it was fake and supposed to be funny or not. Here's the feature I ripped from the DVD.
Okay, I finally watched that, and I'm like 90% sure it's just a joke. Especially considering the line from Seth about sleeping with models. I'm pretty sure it's just a very wry extended gag.
Man, I wasn't sure because I really liked him in Enchanted and I was like "But he doesn't seem mean?!" And I was SO confused haha! Sometimes sarcasm goes right over my head. I hope it's just a joke.
I'm kind of used to the way Seth tells jokes. Also, there's unlikely to be a real section of a making-of on DVD that's about how one of the cast members is a jackass. It's unprofessional and works against the movie. Having jokes on the DVD is totally normal, though.

I keep feeling like he's been in more than he actually has, too. Why isn't he a bigger star? IT IS A MYSTERY.
