Today I saw Julie & Julia

I don't really like to cook, but movies about cooking always make me want to eat. I appreciate the work that goes into cooking. This movie was very funny in parts, and often beautifully shot, but it dragged on too long.

I thought Meryl Streep was wonderful as Julia Child, and I wanted to be friends with her and her siste, played with the usual gusto by Jane Lynch. Stanley Tucci was lovely as her husband, too, and they just had such joy for life that you wanted to be part of it...and spend a lot more time with them than with Julie, even if you love Amy Adams as much as I do. There were times when I was just waiting through the Julie bits to get back to Julia.
