Today I saw 'Across the Universe' again because it's really pretty gorgeous and I enjoy it, and then I saw Blind Dating

Look, it wasn't the worst thing I've sat through for Chris Pine. In fact, as far as romcoms go, it's the best one. The characters were fairly realistic and sweet, Chris Pine was utterly lovely, and the film dealt with some concepts that romantic comedies don't usually deal with. All that said, it seemed to be put together kind of awkwardly, so that a lot of parts just got boring, yet other things - such as the extent of their cultural differences - didn't get enough time. The naked shrink was kind of a weird touch. Also, Chris Pine does not look Italian.

There's now a whole chunk of Pine's filmography that I've seen. Everything since 2006, except Carriers. Woot.

First of all, yay thanks for linking ♥

Secondly, when I first watched Blind Dating I thought it was just stupid but the more you watch it the more you actually feel in love it simply because Chris Pine is adorable in this movie.
I think my least favorite scene was when he had food on his chin. [livejournal.com profile] indilime and I still lol about this. We just can't understand how a person cannot feel that there might be some food on his chin or face.

    Oh and ETA:
I had a really shitty day.

    So sorry :( ♥

Just wanted to let you know that my friend over at Pop Culture Reference (http://popculturereference.net/) is uploading the footage I took at the Middleman table read. They should have it up sometime to today, so you can watch the video of it. :)

Your post just prompted me to look around ontd_startrek and oh my god, there's so much material. I don't even know where to start to jump in.

And I still haven't seen the movie. I guess that would be top priority. (Can't coast for the time being on TOS and DS9, I suppose.)

[livejournal.com profile] ontd_startrek is starting to wind down in its awesomeness, but for a couple of months there it was my favourite thing on LJ.

THE MOVIE IS SO EPIC AND AWESOME.

That's pretty much how I feel about [livejournal.com profile] ontd_ai. Things are starting to become very predictable, hysteria and fan wars and fan fic and all of it, and the fun is being sucked out.

I WANT TO SEE IT. I keep thinking "This weekend!" and then it never happens. This and Public Enemies. My to-watch list is very short, and still, I manage to fail at both.

    From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

It's not SO bad yet. It's more just that they're moderating it, but only boring stuff seems to get through - there was Anarchy Day not long ago and while I couldn't actually read my flist, it was still way more fun than it has been.

LOL I've seen it six times. It's not on here anymore, or I probably would've beaten that.

This is my first experience with AI fandom, and I have to say, it's incredibly difficult to find a comm that feels just right for me. They're all like beehives that set each other off or set themselves off.

Six times?? Wow! It's still playing here. I might get a chance. (But knowing me, I'll miss it and have to settle for the DVD.)

    From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I would STRONGLY advise you to see it on the big screen - it's a really gorgeous film.

    From: [identity profile] sargraf.livejournal.com

Oh, man. Now I'm going to have to really kick myself if I miss it.

    From: [identity profile] entwashian.livejournal.com

Yay, the Sean Maher gay movie has Colin Ferguson in it, too!

I was actually in a test audience for Blind Dating. I still haven't seen the final version.

Thought of you today. On my way back from Comic Con this morning. I had a three hour layover in Chicago tonight. Maggie Grace was on my plane from Chicago to Columbus. If it wasn't her, she's got an exact twin who lives in Columbus. Which would be weird.
