I forgot to mention, I left spnnewsletter. I won't be able to do it when I get a full-time job anyway because of the time difference, and I decided to leave now before the holiday season and job-searching starts in earnest. I'll miss it though, I always discovered so many interesting things on a Wednesday.

We've been sold to the Russians. SixApart gave up on us, it seems.

I don't know how people can go out every night. I went to Cube the last 2 nights in a row and I am completely and utterly exhausted. It was fun, especially last night - it was Cube's second birthday, and Slinkee Minx played live. They sucked, but it got a lot of people in, which was fun. Going to Cube always leaves me feeling horny and lonely, though.

In other news, I am only $10 off my half of the Muhney convention ticket, YAY! Then I just have to save for the fun spending, and I'll be set. Once I've paid for the ticket I can at least relax a little.

The Hairspray cast recording songs. Zac is ADORABLE, Elijah Kelley and Nikki Blonsky are fantastic, and John Travolta is awesome.

Movies I saw today, I'll do a real post in a minute:

The Phantom Tollbooth

This is a fantastic animated movie from 1970 about bored kids using their intellect to overcome obstacles. It's framed by two live-action sections and while it's kind of heavy on the moralising, it's a fun and really fascinating movie, especially to give a sense of the era in which it was made.

And...oh, fuck it, ( High School Musical 2 as it happens )

Okay, all that said, total mess of a movie. The first one had a freshness and genuine enthusiasm that went with the syrup and cheese that made it special, but this one felt manufactured. Also, the structure was hideous. Just because it's a musical doesn't mean the first and last words have to be sung, and the songs should come at certain pivotal moments, not whenever you feel like it. The kids are OK, but the writers need to be shot. Also, so very clearly a Zac Efron vehicle, and while I love the kid you can't write a movie that way. The dance numbers were mostly good, but they were trying to hard to recreate the last movie's - only I Don't Dance was particularly good, and every song corresponded to one in the first film.

I'm still trying to decide between 5 or 6 out of 10.

I'm doing extra work and shopping and going to ALL MY CLASSES, lectures included, at uni (for the first time in years) and driving my sister and the dog around for appointments and organising Mum's birthday party. It's crazy. And yet I stay up until 2 am making icons.

It's not usually my type of movie but I an enthralled by the trailer for August Rush.

LMAO: Milo Ventimiglia wants to play Robin. As in Batman's Robin. Mmm, Milo/Christian Bale.

Supernatural 3.03 spoilers. I'm kinda bored with that storyline.

In news that shocks nobody in the fandom, I'm sure, although anteka probably didn't need to be singled out for pointing out the bleeding obvious, ckll has been fandom wanked.

The guests for Creation's next con are AWESOME. Fredric Lehne, dudes! And some Pada-something guy, Nick Brendon and Steve Carlson, BFF to Jensen and the other half of Kane. WTF. I want to go!

Go vote in Kristin's Tater Tots awards. I voted mostly for Heroes, Battlestar Galactica and Veronica Mars, except for when Charlie came up because OMG DOM. DOM!
